Dr. Jocelyn Besa White

Co-Founder / Owner, PT, DPT, CLT, CKTP, AIB-VR

Jocelyn graduated from Medical Colleges of Northern Philippines in 2004 with a Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy and was licensed by Philippine Professional Regulatory Commission. She completed her post-professional Doctor in Physical Therapy at Evidence in Motion Institute of Health Professions. She is a Co-Founder and Lead Physical Therapist of Direct PT. Her passion and knowledge of the human body radiates throughout our practice.

Jocelyn’s ambition is to deliver the healing ministry of Christ through her years of experience in providing quality Physical Therapy services. She is licensed in Physical Therapy by Florida Board of PT Medical Quality Assurance, Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) by Academy of Lymphatics, and Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP) by Kinesio University. Additionally, Jocelyn earned her Certification in Vestibular Rehabilitation by The American Institute of Balance (AIB-VR) and trained by American Physical Therapy Association in Women’s Pelvic Health.

Previously, Jocelyn worked as a college instructor of Allied Health and Science Education and review instructor of the graduates of Physical Therapy at Medical Colleges of Northern Philippines in 2005. Her passion to help others through direct patient care, moved her to become a Physical Therapist of the Philippines’ prestigious Baguio Country Club Fitness and Wellness in 2006 until she came to the US in 2009.

In furthering her contribution to the community, she also volunteered her hours as a staff PT at Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center helping many patients achieve their functional goals with home care physical therapy services in the Philippines. A professional through and through, Jocelyn strives to ensure patient satisfaction. As a proud mother of four beautiful children and a wife of a successful entrepreneur, Jocelyn values family, hard work, and helping others.

Joel White

Co-Founder / Owner

With much experience in manufacturing, Joel is not only DPT’s Co-Founder, but continuously works as DPT’s brand ambassador. On-board with the mission of “Get Better, Faster”, he uses his skills and experience in manufacturing to fabricate DPT’s mark in Health Care PT.

Additionally, Joel is a Certified Electrical Contractor and Owner of White Sign Company. WSC has been servicing, designing, and manufacturing since 2007. With 10 plus years in the field of technological landscaping, WSC continues to advance while possessing extensive skill and expertise in signs, lighting, awnings, and canopies. Joel thrives to contribute to community business development.

Both Joel and Jocelyn were joined in marriage in 2009. As two successful entrepreneurs, they undoubtedly compliment one another in many areas. Joel is a proud father of four beautiful children, sharing values with Jocelyn that incorporate family, hard work, and helping others. With many achievements, Joel is most proud to be a husband and father. Considering, he has created DPT’s very emblem to ensure that the mission set forth is not only echoed through our works, but what DPT is positioned to stand for in Jocelyn’s ambition to deliver direct, customized PT service along with community awareness.

Dr. Brandi Szoka

PT, DPT

Dr. Brandi has worked in outpatient orthopedics since graduation and enjoys working with the geriatric population to improved their functional ability and quality of life. Dr. Brandi also has an interest in Pelvic Floor therapy and has recently started coursework to begin treating pelvic floor patients and is looking forward to getting more experience in treating this population. Dr. Brandi has grown up in Deland, FL with the exception of moving to Pennsylvania for a few years during her early childhood.  

Outside of work Dr. Brandi enjoys spending time with her husband, staying active, spending time at the beach, and cooking as she is a big foodie. Dr. Brandi also loves dogs and has two black labs that she will tell you all about if you ask.

Dr. Brandi attended Stetson University where she received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Integrative Health Sciences. She then went to earn her Doctor of Physical Therapy from University of South Florida in 2019.

Dr. Lisa LePine

Clinic Manager, Physical Therapist

Dr. Lisa Chooses, utilizes, and applies appropriate evaluation procedures based on subjective complaints/diagnosis and practices according to established protocols and/or bases treatment plan on results of clinical assessment. She also provides treatments for individualized progression and based upon impairments, functional deficits, and goals that addresses both symptomology and pathology.  Before Direct PT, Lisa owned and operated a dance center in Upstate NY where she taught competitive and recreational students several different dance forms. After selling her business, Lisa was eager to combine her passions of helping people, dance, and movement analysis which led her explore the world of physical therapy.

Dr. Lisa is honored to work with the Volusia County community in rehabilitation, healing and wellness. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, working out, exploring nature, and spending time with her family and friends.

Dr. Lisa is LSVT ® BIG Certified, a Parkinson’s Rehabilitation Program, a Dance PT Specialist and General Orthopedic PT.  She received her BA Degree in Psychology with a minor in Dance at Potsdam State College and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Wingate University.

Megan Loso

Clinic Manager, Physical Therapist

Megan chooses, utilizes, and applies appropriate evaluation procedures based on subjective complaints/diagnosis and practices according to established protocols and/or bases treatment plan on results of clinical assessment. She also provides treatments for individualized progression and based upon impairments, functional deficits, and goals that addresses both symptomology and pathology.  She loves making a positive impact on people’s lives and watching them improve with their overall function.

Megan is a fun loving, energetic person who has 13 years’ experience in Outpatient Orthopedics. She has 5 years’ experience with aquatic therapy and 9 years of vestibular rehabilitation and health in addition to general orthopedics PT. She is a proud wife and mother of three children, ages 11, 10, and 4. Her hobbies include cooking, reading, and outings with her family with fishing being one of their favorites.

Megan received her BA in Biology from Winthrop University in South Carolina where she met her husband and her Physical Therapy Degree from University of Central Florida in 2007.

Dr. Christin Caviness

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist

Dr. Christin treats both men and women for Pelvic Floor therapy conditions so they can get out of pain and discomfort and get back to their lives. Her favorite part about her job with Direct PT is helping her patients achieve their goals.  In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.

Dr. Christin received her BFA in Dance from Jacksonville University and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from University of Central Florida. She made the transition from dance to physical therapy as she began to rehabilitate her back from multiple dance injuries. She is also a certified Pilates instructor and was fortunate enough to have had an internship at Polestar Physical Therapy and Pilates Center. Christin has also attended continuing education through both Brooks Rehabilitation and Herman and Wallace.

Kayla Parker

PTA

Kayla treats patients by carrying out their plans of care and loves applying her passion for sports athletics and well-being to help people live healthy and active lifestyles. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her amazing husband, two great dogs, exercising, visiting her family and friends, and being involved in her church.

Kayla was born and raised in the Atlanta, Georgia area and moved to Florida with her family prior to middle school. She grew up playing and watching a lot of sports, and her roots in Georgia instilled in her a deep love for the Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Falcons. While in middle and high school, she played volleyball, basketball, and fast-pitch softball, and participated in several training and sports camps. Her love for athletics and interest in Anatomy and Physiology led her to pursue a career that combined these two passions.

Kayla received her BS in Sports and Exercise Science from the University of Central Florida and her PTA from Seminole State University.

Shelby Stephens

PTA, Lymphedema PTA

Shelby executes set plan of care, provides evidence-based treatment, and electronic documentation of daily therapy notes.  She enjoys helping people achieve their goals. Combining her love of people with her passion for movement and health education along with her interest in human anatomy and physiology and exercise science. In her free time Shelby enjoys spending time at the beach, paddle boarding, and reading.

Shelby was born and raised in the central Florida area. Prior to pursuing physical therapy, she worked as an elderly caregiver for 4 years as well as a children’s nanny for 6 years cultivating a love for assisting individuals with achieving full and happy lives. Following high school graduation, she began attending Seminole State college with a focus in health sciences and chose to pursue a career in Physical therapy.

Shelby received her Physical Therapist Assistant Associates in Science Degree from Seminole State College in 2020.
